Beltangady: KCWA-CKSK disburses seventh year Suvidya 2024 interest free educational loan

Beltangady, Jul 14: The Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra (CKSK), supported by the Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), organized the disbursement of the Suvidya 2024 interest-free loan at Vimukti, Beltangady on Sunday, July 14. The loan aims to support the higher education needs of economically disadvantaged youths in the Diocese of Mangalore.

A total of 30 students have applied for the Suvidya 2024 scheme. The program commenced with a prayer. On the dais, Naveen Mascarenhas the President of KCWA, Mabel Andrade, a nominated committee member, Fr Able Lobo, parish priest of St. Antony Church Ujire, Fr Vinod Mascarenhas director of CKSK-Vimukti, and Fr Rohan Lobo, assistant director of CKSK-Vimukti, were present.

A new database for Suvidya was launched by Naveen Mascarenhas, which helps to keep track of all the documentation. Laveena, the program coordinator, gave a bird's-eye view of Suvidya 2018–2024. Fr Rohan Lobo delivered the introductory talk.

Fr Vinod Mascarenhas and Fr Abel Lobo honored the KCWA President for their exceptional support. In his address, Naveen encouraged students to pursue higher education and wished well for the students. Fr Abel expressed his happiness towards the work done by the organization and expressed his gratitude to KCWA for the meritorious work they take up for the betterment of society. Mabel Andrade expressed in her talk the long journey of KCWA and exhorted all to help others as we improve.

Past Suvidya beneficiaries shared their gratitude towards the organization for helping them pursue their education.

Fr Vinod Mascarenhas, director, expressed gratitude to KCWA for their dedicated service in assisting youths in pursuing higher education within the Diocese of Mangalore. He also extended his gratitude and wishes to all the members of the KCWA for their commitment to addressing homeland issues. A total of Rs 1236,000 was disbursed this year for 30 applicants.

Christal served as the programme's compere, and Laveena proposed vote of thanks.
