Udupi: Doctor claims account hacked after controversial tweet sparks outrage

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Jul 15: A doctor serving in a hospital in Udupi's Brahmavara has sparked controversy due to an allegedly offensive tweet made from Dr Keerthan Upadhya’s X account.

On July 13, in response to the question, "If you could remove one thing from this world, what would it be?" Dr Keerthan Upadhya’s reply, "Muslim community," caused a major uproar.

Dr Keerthan Upadhya is reportedly working in a private hospital in Brahmavar. The incident has gone viral on social media, prompting significant backlash against Dr Kirtan Upadhyay. Many users have tagged the Karnataka DGP on X and demanded action against the doctor for the inflammatory tweet.

Later, Dr Keerthan Upadhya claimed his account was hacked, tweeting, "I had stopped using Twitter a few months back and realized something unwanted was posted. Someone was using my account. I have changed my password, login details, and everything related to the account. My account was hacked. Apologies to all here."

Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of the fact-checking organization Alt News, pointed out that Dr Upadhya had deleted the controversial tweet and locked his X profile, preventing access to his account and tweets.

A suo moto case has been filed by Udupi police over the incident against Dr Keerthan Upadhya at Udupi town police station.

Shocking. When a healthofficer like him openly admit that he hates certain community, then he is not trustworthy. How can a patient be sure that he might undertake something this community to uproot?Such persons should be immediately kickout from hospital and medical soceity.Medical association should take up this matter immediately and file a case on him.Medical personal should treat everyone equally but here one is not sure. When his account was hacked is not a wonder ,one has to expect for his saying .Money goes and comes ,but name and deeds remain.I never experienced this type of hype.Sorry dear muslim brothers and sisters to hear this but not all are not so.He should openly say sorry to his saying..But once said ,remains in Domain and mind.Cant trust any more.

Expressing opinion is not a crime. Why make a mountain out of a mole. I feel the same way the doctor feels. That doesn't mean That I am going to put my words into action. Just ignore such opinions and carry on with your life.

I know this doctor who is welknown for commnual hatred.. He is an dirty animal unfit to.live in a civilised society. Moreover he is sick in his mind n disgrace to medical fraternity. Can he treat his patients with this hate mindset. Now he claims innocent n says that his twitter account is hacked just to cover up his crime..a habit usual with our politicians.

if doctors (health care professionals) has hate in their mind for community/religion other than their practicing religion/community can they cure patient sickness, no they cannot. but they worsen the patient sickness if the patient is from another community. same way if the lawyer has hate in his mind for other community/religion other than his practicing religion/community can he give fair justice to his client. no no way.

"Upadhyay, a doctor by profession, his derogatory comments on Twitter, revealing his dirty mindset. Many Hindus in Gulf countries hold prominent positions and are successful businessmen. They live in Dubai and other Gulf countries with Golden cards. Why does he harbor so much hatred towards Muslims? This doctor deserves to be punished; he is unworthy of being called a doctor. An account has been hacked, this is another false claim by the doctor.” 😊

I wonder if his account was really hacked... Who in the world would pin point his account to be hacked in an extremely unnoticeable post in a remote corner of the world?... Finger itching at the key board is important to be controlled for anyone... It is a very distasteful comment to be publicly broadcast....
