Mangaluru: Annual Retreat-2024 held at St Aloysius Pre-University College

Mangaluru, Jul 15: A two – day retreat was held on July 12 & 13 for the Catholic students of St Aloysius PU College at two different venues- Fatima Retreat House (I PU students) and Urwa Church Hall (II PU students).

The theme of the retreat was ‘Revive – Being the Light of the world’.


Sessions on god’s love, the need for retreat, relationship with the Lord, life with Jesus, handling temptations of the youth with the help of Christ and the power of the holy spirit were conducted by ‘Missionary Families of Christ: Defending Faith, Family and Life’.

The sessions aimed to strengthen spiritual foundations and communal bonds proved to be an enriching experience, focusing on self-reflection and fostering a positive environment. Students actively participated in action songs, creative activities and interactive discussions.

The highlight of the retreat was examination of conscience, god’s mercy and confession of love. This examination of conscience was led by Fr Leston Lobo SJ, director of Jesuit Pre- Novitiate, Loyola, Mangaluru.

During the retreat, Fr Jason Pinto SDB, delivered a talk on the role of youths in the family and church. The Eucharistic celebration was held on both the days, focusing about the importance of the holy spirit.

The retreat provided the students an opportunity to step aside from daily routine, renew their minds, refresh their hearts and reinvigorate their spirits.
