Udupi, Jul 17: Udupi Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise Udupi Tourism, 'Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow' seminar at Madhavakrishna auditorium, Kediyoor Hotel, Udupi on July 20.
Ammunje Prabhakar Nayak, president of the chamber addressing the media in a press meet held on July 17, said, “An interactive conference has been organised on tourism at 10 am, July 20, where people can raise their concerns. Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna will be inaugurating the event. The conference is organised in association with the Coastal Tourism Committee, Udupi district Tours and Tours association, District Small-Scale Traders Association, District Hotel Owners Association, and Home Stay Owners Association.”
Mohammed Moula, treasurer said, “There are many tourism spots that are not identified. We are focusing on developing health tourism that is not known. The conference aims at facilitating short tours within Udupi, educational tourism, tourism that operates through the school.”
Nagaraj Hebbar, programme coordinator, said, “Developing Udupi tourism is our main aim. Dr Kiran Acharya will be one of the resource persons. Manohar Shetty will be part of a panel discussion. This conference is held to discuss the need for Udupi tourism.”
Former minister V Sunil Kumar, Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantijole, and Kundapura MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi will participate in the conference and talk about tourism in their constituency. Dr Vidya Kumari, Udupi Deputy Commissioner, K Ragupathi Bhar, former MLA and honorary president of District Auto and Taxi Association, Manohar S Shetty, president, Coastal Tourism Organisation, Dr Kiran Acharya, head of surgery department, Manipal Hospital, Prasad Raj Kanchan, representative, District Automobile Association, Kumar C U, director, Udupi tourism, will present their views on the day.
The Union Bank will share details about offering loan options for eligible tourism ventures within the district. Various associations are invited to participate in the event and express their opinions and raise their concerns.
