Udupi: Body found near Sagri railway bridge, suspected suicide

Udupi, Jul 18: A body was found near the railway tracks at Sagri railway bridge on July 17.

Raghavendra C, sub inspector of Manipal police station, and his team, with the cooperation of social worker Nithyanada Volakadu, secured the body and transported it to the Manipal body rescue unit.

The deceased has been identified as Prasad Acharya, a resident of Moodbettu, Udupi.

It is believed that the incident occurred after Prasad was hit by a train, and it is suspected to be a case of suicide.

Manipal police and railway authorities have initiated legal procedures and investigations at the incident site.
