Media Release

Kasargod, Jul 20: Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre in Manjeshwar celebrated a touching reunion on Saturday, July 20. Br Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, rescued a man from in front of KMC Hospital Attavar and admitted him to the center. Unable to communicate his identity, he was named Dhooma and received necessary care at the center.

Thanks to the joint efforts of Snehalaya and the Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Mangaluru, they were able to discover his real identity. The Snehalaya team found that his real name is Praveen and he hails from Ballari, Karnataka. They soon contacted his family, who promised to come as soon as possible.

Today, the family arrived at Snehalaya and had an emotional reunion with Praveen after 10 years. His brother, father, and relatives hugged him with tears of joy. Br Joseph Crasta greeted them and wished them all the best for the future. Praveen's father and brother shared that he went missing when they went to work and searched for him everywhere, even lodging a police complaint at Subramanya Police Station. Tragically, Praveen’s mother passed away while waiting for his return over these years.

This story highlights the impact of compassion and perseverance, with Snehalaya's efforts bringing a lost son back to his family, embodying their commitment to serving society.
