Kundapur: Bus falls into roadside drain, 17 students injured

Kundapur, Jul 22: A private bus traveling from Shivamogga to Byndoor skidded into a roadside drain after the driver lost control of the vehicle on Monday morning at Dali Murklu near Kollur.

The Durgamba private bus was en route to Byndoor from Shivamogga when the accident occurred around 8:45 am. The bus fell into the drain and came to a halt after brushing against a tree.

The bus was carrying students from Mookambika High School and a PU college. Among the injured were six students from Mookambika High School and eleven from the PU college. They have been admitted to the government hospital in Kundapur. It is reported that five students have sustained fractures.

The Kollur police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
