Mangaluru: 30th Poetica Kavigoshti held at Little Flower Higher Primary School, Bajpe

Mangaluru, Jul 22: The 30th Poetica Kavigoshti was held on June 3, at Little Flower Higher Primary School, Bajpe along with the distribution ceremony of free books, stationery and toys to the school children, in the school hall.

The ceremony was presided over by Dr Lilly Pereira, provincial director of Bethany Institute, Mangaluru Province. Poetica admin Naveen Pereira, head of the local convent Sr Florine Jyothi, school headmistress Sr Prefilda were present on the stage as the chief guests. 

Teacher Anita Saldanha welcomed everyone. The ceremony was inaugurated by lighting a lamp. Naveen Pereira explained the basic purpose of the distribution of writing books, stationery and toys to school children.

Sr Dr Lilly Pereira, regional director of Mangalore province of Bethany, who presided over the programme was honoured. Dr Sr Lilly Pereira delivered the presidential speech and wished good luck. The poetry session was moderated by Raymond D'cunha Taccode. Poets like Lavi Ganjimath, Edward Lobo, Merlyn Mascarenhas, Alwyn Pinto, Naveen Pereira, Jossy Pinto and Preetan Pereira recited their poems.

There after writing books, stationary and toys were distributed to the students. Naveen Pereira was felicitated on behalf of the school, commemorating his contribution to the school children. The head teacher of the school Sr Prefilda thanked everyone. Delsey D'Souza compered the programme.
