24-yr-old Bihar woman found murdered in Bengaluru PG hostel

Bengaluru, July 24 (IANS): A 24-year-old woman, working at a private company, was found murdered on the premises of her Paying Guest (PG) hostel in Koramangala locality of Bengaluru.

The deceased was identified as Kriti Kumari, a native of Bihar.

Raman Gupta, Additional Police Commissioner (East), said on Wednesday that after receiving information about the crime, a team rushed to the spot.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the assailant sneaked into the PG hostel and slit Kriti's throat with a knife near her room on the third floor at 11.30 p.m on Tuesday, leading to her on-the-spot death.

The police were reviewing CCTV footage of the hostel and checking Kriti's Call Detail Records (CDRs).

Initial probe indicated that the murderer was a known person and that the negligence of the PG hostel owner was a contributing factor to the murder, police said.

The cause of the crime is yet to be ascertained.

Unbelieveable. When such murders are going on continue,in some 5years?there will be no young girls around and import from other countries to marry?Hard to believe. But govt is not taking serious action on such murder. It looks like someone of her nearer known person came to rape her ,or wanted friendship denied and was killed by throat slit?No safety in PG.May her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.Killer should be caught fast and punished with life long arrest or hanged .so that in future noone dares to di this anymore.

Garden city is not safe anymore, it used to be a paradise for the retired. Now there is so much of crime that people are moving out of Bangalore. Added to this is the haphazard planning and flooding, traffic congestion and rampant cutting of the once beautiful green cover has destroyed this beautiful city .

Once the body is cremated, everything will be forgotten. Only issue here is the owner has to spend some money to police. This is how our system works. No value for human life. Thats it.

PGs in Bangalore have turned into just a money making machine with no proper security, cleanliness, rude house keepers, fleecing the residents of an extra 2k off the security deposit, by the housekeeper, horrible food and a host of other problems. They are not regulated properly and the authoritirs are not doing anything about it. There is absolutely no accountability whatsoever. This cold blooded murder is a wake up call. The housekeeper and the owner must be held responsible for the utter failure of security in the girls PG. They should not be allowed to continue to run any PG business and be jailed atleast 10 years.

PG accommodations have to be regulated, if there is any offence or crime the owner has to be held primarily responsible. Most of the paying guests are into illegal activities and difficult to track and punish.

If a murderer is a well-known individual, revealing the secret behind the murder could happen if he's apprehended. And he should get the appropriate punishment.

RIP! Bengaluru has become too concentrated; time for the dispensing administration to decentralise and decongest, to avoid such ruthless crimes!!
