Sullia, Jul 26: A landslide on the railway track near Subrahmanya caused panic among passengers on Friday, July 26 at approximately 6:56 PM. The soil erosion occurred between Yedakumeri and Kadagaravalli sections, leading to the diversion and regulation of several train services.
The affected train services are as follows:
- Train No. 16595 KSR Bengaluru – Karwar Panchaganga Super-Fast Express, journey commencing on 26.07.2024, will be diverted/regulated.
- Train No. 16596 Karwar - KSR Bengaluru Panchaganga Super-Fast Express, journey commencing on 26.07.2024, will be diverted/regulated.
- Train No. 16586 Murdeshwar – SMVT Bengaluru Express, journey commencing on 26.07.2024, will be diverted/regulated.
- Train No. 16512 Kannur – KSR Bengaluru Express, journey commencing on 26.07.2024, will be diverted/regulated.
Relief materials and rescue teams are present on-site, and restoration works are currently in progress.
Senior officers, including Arvind Srivastava, General Manager, K S Jain, Additional General Manager, and principal heads of departments, are closely monitoring the situation. Shilpi Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager of Mysuru, is supervising the restoration efforts.
