Mangaluru: Bondel St Lawrence Church to celebrate annual feast on Aug 10

Mangaluru, Jul 27: The annual feast of St Lawrence Church, Bondel will be celebrated on August 10. The nine-day novena prior to the annual feast will begin on Thursday, August 1. From August 1-9, adoration at 5.30 to 6.00 pm followed by evening Mass will be offered for all the devotees.

On August 1, there will be the unfurling of St Lawrence’ flag here at the church premises at 5 pm. Fr Denis D'Sa PRO diocese of Udupi, parish priest Thottam will have the honour of hoisting the flag. Fr Denis D'Sa will be celebrating the Mass marking this occasion with spiritual significance.

Coadjutor Bishop of the diocese of Jhansi, Dr Wilfred Gregory Moras, will be presiding at the festal Mass on August 10 at 10:30 am. Dr Duming Dias bishop of the Karwar Diocese will preside over the celebration later in the day at 6:00 pm.

Devotees will be given blessed bread from August 1 to 10, on all devotional days beginning on August 1 and concluding with the feast on August 10. Faithful visitors from all across the city throng to the shrine, where they offer up prayers for a deep gift of faith.

All church programme will be conducted under the guidance of parish priest Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza and Prakash Pinto, convener-St Lawrence Shrine Committee, during the novenas.

All devotees are cordially invited to partake in the annual feast which will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 10.30 am and concluding Mass in the evening at 6.00 pm.

The devotees’ goodwill offerings and Mass offerings will be gratefully accepted. Blessed articles will be available in the religious stalls.
