Mumbai (RBI), Jul 29: "The community service organization has reached this level with competent leadership. Our leaders' guidance has led to progress. As our leaders have cultivated a community-minded approach, the society has achieved progress in many fields. Our youth must join the association to maintain the unity of the Bhandary community. For the advancement and progress of society, education and unity are essential. We will receive our own space in Kurla, which is under redevelopment, in 2025, and we are actively working towards it," said Prabhakar P Bhandary, president of the Bhandary Seva Samiti Mumbai.

On Sunday evening, Prabhakar Bhandary lit the lamp and inaugurated the 71st annual general meeting of the Bhandary Seva Samiti held at the Shri Kuch Deshiya Saraswat Brahmin Mahasangh Trust auditorium in Mulund West.

The association's honorary secretary, Ramesh Bhandary Powai, treasurer Sheena Bhandary Vadala, and women's president Shalini R Bhandary were present on the dais. Ramesh Bhandary welcomed everyone, read the report of the previous annual general meeting, and provided information about the year's activities. Sheena Bhandary Vadala presented the previous year's accounts.

The election for the new office bearers for the 2024-2026 term was conducted, with advocate Ranjit S Bhandary elected as president, Sunil Bhandary as honorary secretary, Karthik Bhandary as treasurer, and 18 executive committee members. Subsequently, the 2025 office bearers for the Kachuru Nageshwar Mandir festival committee were elected.

Vice-presidents Shashidhar D Bhandary and Ramanand K Bhandary, joint secretaries Ranjit S Bhandary and Rakesh S Bhandary, joint treasurer Prakash Bhandary, women's vice-president Jayasudha T Bhandary, secretary Latha Yogesh Thane, executive committee members advocate Shekhar S Bhandary (former president) , Rukmaya Bhandary, Karunakar Bhandary Kandivli, Keshav T Bhandary, Jaysheel U Bhandary, Prema Bhandary, Usha Bhaskar, Prakash Bhandary, Rekha A Bhandary, and others were present.

Bhandary community members, former office bearers, and many members attended, and the meeting began with prayers to the deity Kachuru Shri Nageshwar. A tribute was paid to all Bhandary members, dignitaries, and association well-wishers who passed away last year. On behalf of the attendees, former women's president Lalitha Vishwanath Bhandary expressed her views and wished for the association's progress.

The meeting began with a prayer by Pallavi Ranjit Bhandary. Educational scholarships were awarded to the talented children of the committee members, and Prabhakar P Bhandary distributed notebooks. Purushottam Bhandary thanked everyone. The meeting concluded with the National Anthem.
