Mangaluru: Holy Family Church, Omzoor celebrates Elders' Day

Mangaluru, Jul 30: The Elders' Day was celebrated on July 28, at Holy Family Church, Omzoor, organized by the parish pastoral council. This special day is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the senior citizens of the parish. The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, officiated by parish priest Fr William Menezes, followed by a formal programme.

The formal programme commenced after the mass, with Fr William Menezes presiding over the event. In his address, he emphasized the significance of the occasion, expressed joy over the strong connections between the elders and the younger generation, and praised their role in fostering family unity and peaceful living. Arthur D’Souza, vice-president of the parish pastoral council, addressed the elders and extended his best wishes.

Souvenirs were distributed by Fr William Menezes as a gesture of appreciation. Dafny Lewis, the secretary of the parish pastoral council, was present and assisted the guests, while Elroy Saldanha, the church parish commissions coordinator, served as the event's host. Approximately 45 elders aged 65 and above attended the celebration.
