Udupi, Jul 30: Braving wind and rain, farmers labouring in agricultural fields were recognized and honoured by members of the Rotary Club Udyavar in a unique event held in Udyavar.
Under the programme titled 'Raita Mitra' (friend of farmers), the club's immediate past president, rotarian Prasad Shetty, organized an event in his agricultural land to encourage farmers.
During the event, the club president, rotarian Jeevan D'Souza, along with all the club members, honoured 15 farmers who were engaged in rice planting in the paddy fields.
The farmers were felicitated with mementos as a token of appreciation. Following the felicitation, club members joined the farmers in their work in the fields.
