Karkala: Motorcyclist killed in collision with tipper

Karkala, Jul 30: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot when his bike was hit by a tipper at Pulkeri near Karkala on July 29.

The deceased is identified as Nizam (22), son of Imtiyaz, a resident of Halakkikere in Karkala village.

Nizam, who worked as a mechanic, was traveling from Sanoor towards Karkala when the collision occurred around 10:30 am. Near Pulkeri, Nizam attempted to overtake an autorickshaw in front of him and collided with an oncoming tipper. He was thrown onto the road and fell under the tipper's wheels, dying instantly.

The Karkala city police have registered a case regarding the incident.
