Udupi, Jul 30: Recent heavy rains have caused significant damage to the culvert on Chakratirtha Road in the Moodusagri ward of Udupi City Municipality, making it unsafe for vehicular traffic. In response, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna visited the site to assess the damage firsthand.
As a precautionary measure, vehicular traffic on this route has been restricted.
An allocation of approximately Rs 13 lac has been approved for the culvert’s reconstruction. The MLA has instructed municipal authorities to commence the repair work as soon as possible.
The inspection was attended by local municipal members Bharathi Prashanth, city BJP President Dinesh Ameen, municipal members Girish Anchan, and local leader Ishwar Poojari.
