Udupi, Jul 30: “Narendra Modi is the reason for corruption in the nation, he is a liar and a time-efficient politician,” said V S Ugrappa, chairman of the KPCC fact-finding committee.
Addressing the media at a press meet held at the district Congress office in Udupi on July 30, Ugrappa stated, “We had anticipated winning 20 seats but only secured 9. Narendra Modi, who promised a victory in 400 seats, has proven to be a deceptive politician. Despite securing the highest votes in some regions, we still lost seats. To strengthen the party, we need to listen to advice from grassroots workers.”
Ugrappa claimed that the BJP has failed to understand the needs and lives of ordinary people, saying, “The budget presented by the union government was merely an election tactic to consolidate power. Karnataka, one of the top revenue-generating states, has received no grants despite suffering significant damage from floods. Unlike the grants provided to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka deserves a special grant of at least Rs 10,000 crore to address the damage caused by recent rains.”
Ugrappa criticized the BJP for engaging in divisive politics and the misuse of sensitive issues, stating, “The BJP is engaging in hatred politics without reason, trying to divert attention from their failures. They are exploiting people’s sentiments for political gain. There is a law against using religion in elections, but they are destroying the nation in the name of Rama. They inaugurated the Ram Mandir before its completion, and now it is leaking. The Supreme Court had mandated the construction of both the Ram Mandir and the Masjid, yet only the Ram Mandir has been completed.”
Ugrappa demanded a special grant from the union ministry for the damages caused by rain and floods in Karnataka.
