Madikeri, Jul 31: In light of the heavy downpour and the declaration of a red alert for July 31 and August 1, Kodagu Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja has urged people to postpone their visits to the district.

The intense rainfall has caused significant disruptions, interrupting and disconnecting road connections in several areas. Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja advised, "For safety reasons, those who have planned their visit to Kodagu on July 31 and August 1 should avoid and postpone their trip."

The district administration is prioritizing public safety and urges residents and visitors to adhere to the advisory until the situation improves.
