Mangaluru: Srinivas University organises a workshop on Neev Abhiyan

Mangaluru, Aug 1: One day skill development programme “Neev Ahiyaan” was organised by Adani Cement and ACC Cement in association with dept of civil engineering, Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology, SUIET, Mukka, Mangaluru. Around 75 civil engineering contractors and students participated in the Neev Abhiyan.

Chief guest of the programme Dr K Sathyanarayana Reddy (vice-chancellor, Srinivas University) inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Er Hitesh Prasad (Technical Head, Adani Cement, Karnataka Region) presided over the programme.

Guest of honour Dr B S Praveen Kumar (dean, SUIET Mukka), Er Rajath V G (deputy manager, Adani Cement, Area Office Mangaluru) were present on the dais.

Prof Shrinath Rao K delivered a rechnical talk on “Challenges in Construction Project Management”.

Er Hitesh Prasad delivered a technical talk on “Nominal Mix, Bar Bending Schedule and Advanced Concrete Technology” as part of Neev Ahiyaan.

After the technical talks, the civil engineering contractors visited the Concrete Testing Laboratory to enrich knowledge on QAQC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) in cement and concrete. Er Sangram Shriyan explained various tests to be conducted for cement and concrete to maintain and assure the quality.

All the participants were given certificates issued by Adani Cement and ACC Cement.

Civil engineering contractors, faculty members, office-bearers of SRISTICA (Civil Engineering Students Association), president of Sristica Varun N Madhyastha, vice-president Rahul Rajesh Rai, secretary Ratan Ramesh Puthran, and other students were present.
