Mangaluru, Aug 3: The third day of the novena leading up to the feast of St Lawrence was observed with great devotion at St Lawrence Church Bondel. The theme for the day was 'God satisfies the hunger and spiritual thirst of our body'.

The devotees gathered for adoration, which was then followed by a solemn Mass. The mass was led by Fr Andrew D'Souza parish priest - Bajal, with concelebrants Fr Peter Gonsalves, principal St Lawrence English Medium School and Fr William D'Souza assistant parish priest.

During his homily, Fr Andrew D'Souza spoke passionately to the gathered devotees of St Lawrence emphasized the dual nature of existence, pointing out that just as bodies require physical nourishment, the souls crave spiritual sustenance. He highlighted that this spiritual food, which is essential for a meaningful Christian life, can only be found through Christ. By cultivating deep roots in the faith and nurturing the spiritual life, one can make the Christian journey truly meaningful and fulfilling, he said.

The soulful choir was led by revelation group under the leadership of Dr Suraj Noronha. Special prayers were offered for the sick, the suffering and the elderly.
