Sydney, Nov 9 (IANS): New South Wales Premier Barry O'Farrell will head a business delegation to India to forge closer trade ties. New South Wales is Australia's most populous state with a significant Indian diaspora.
He will visit Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore during his five-day tour to the country, starting Saturday.
It is O'Farrell's first trade mission to India since becoming NSW premier in March this year.
On the eve of his visit, O'Farell is hosting a Deepavali celebration for the Indian community Thursday night at Parliament House.
O'Farrell is proud of the state's dynamic cultural and religious diversity, his press office said in a statement.
Both sides are expected to sign a number of agreements during O'Farrell's visit.
