New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS): Travellers on the high-speed Airport Metro Express Line (AMEL) will get a 50 percent discount on Guru Purab being celebrated Thursday, a Reliance Infrastructure official said.
The offer is available on single journey tokens, not on smart cards and valid only for Thursday. The offer is to facilitate devotees visiting the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, which is near the Shivaji Stadium Metro station.
The Reliance Infrastructure-led consortium, which runs the 20-km Metro line, is expecting a huge rush.
"The Shivaji Stadium station is located near Hanuman temple and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. We hope the discounted fare would encourage more people to take the AMEL by providing a time and cost saving alternative to traffic jams on city roads," said a spokesperson of the rail network.
The normal minimum fare on the New Delhi Railway Station-Dwarka Sector 21 express line is Rs.20 and the maximum Rs.100.
The offer will be available at all six stations -- New Delhi Railway Station, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Aero City, Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and Dwarka Sec-21.
