Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Aug 7: A tollgate employee was assaulted by a car driver at the Hejamady toll plaza in Udupi district on Tuesday August 6.

Dixit, a 30-year-old toll collector from Belapu village, Kaup, filed a complaint alleging that a man named Saleem, driving a red car with registration number KA-63-M-1512, assaulted him. The incident occurred around 9:20 am.

According to the complaint, Saleem refused to pay the toll fee and demanded to be allowed to pass without payment. When Dixit explained that this was not possible, Saleem became aggressive. He attempted to flee the tollgate by driving through another vehicle but was unsuccessful.

Enraged, Saleem physically assaulted Dixit, causing injuries to his head, shoulder, and face. He also used an umbrella to attack the toll collector. Other staff members intervened to stop the assault.

The Padubidri police registered a case based on Dixit’s complaint and arrested Saleem.

Toll gate employees taking highest risk. Their job is dangerous. Rowdy drivers should penalised and should pay compensation and hospital bill to the toll gate employee. If the driver doesn't pay, auction the car and pay the compensation to poor toll gate employee.

Success of the Modi sarkaar has been the segregation of the working class as seen here. One worker fighting another, both to make ends meet while doing duties for their overlords who give them scraps in return. Workers unite agaist the bourgeois, his excellency and Lord Sidda will lead us to a glorious equality.

Yeah yeah! We have to believe that one man harmed a toll employee alone. Believe me, any sort of argument, we have seen enough toll employees group together ready to attack the driver. We have also seen too staff, deny passage even if there is balance in Fasttag. We have waited 10 to 15 minutes on occasion at toll booth because toll equipment is malfunctioning. No rules apply to toll operators. Not even bad or good roads.

Oh! So, you too came out of the car and hit the toll employees? If you did, you should be arrested too. If you didn’t, see, that’s the difference between you and this hooligan.

Thomas Aquin mangalore, whatever arguement you bring in,one thing is sure,no assault to anyone. One has to pay what to pay is and drive away simply .Why long arguement with these people?IT doesnt bring.long arguement delay to others and yourself. One should argue with people when necessary at other times and place. You have peace when and where not needed.

Ofcourse, once again they strike. It’s not uncommon for them to behave like hookigans in public. They drive in highend cars from their illegally made money.

Sometimes toll gate employees act like hooligans, and sometimes it’s the vehicle owners/ drivers. But what can we do? The law catches them today and releases them tomorrow because lack of evidence is a major flaw in our legal system.”
