Mangaluru, Aug 7: The Srinivas University Institute of Port, Shipping & Logistics Management held an orientation programme for the 2024-25 batch of students at city campus Pandeshwara on Wednesday, August 7.
The programme was inaugurated by the chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao. In his presidential address, he emphasized that students should maintain discipline in their lives, as it will guide them towards achieving their goals.
The chief guest for the programme was the pro-chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao.
He said, "Port and shipping have a significant impact on our nation’s economy. As students of Port, Shipping, and Logistics, you must contribute to our nations development in the future."
Srinivas University Board of governors trustee member A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, wished the students a fruitful student life. Srinivas University Board of Governors Trustee member Prof Er A Mitra S. Rao administered the oath and advised the students that their future would depend on their behavior. She emphasized that it's not easy, as everyone is skilled and competition is inevitable. Therefore, they must prepare themselves to face challenges and succeed in their future endeavors.
Srinivas University vice chancellor Dr Satyanarayana Reddy provided an introduction to the university. Srinivas University development registrar Dr Ajay Kumar was present.
Institute of Port, Shipping & Logistics management dean Dr Sonia Noronha welcomed the gathering, and Logistics course coordinator Prof Sawparnika prosed a vote of thanks. The programme was hosted by Prof Akshatha Samson and Prof Shwetha Bhat.
