Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College organizes leadership training programme

Mangaluru, Aug 9: St Agnes PU College organized a leadership training programme on Thursday, August 8, for the newly inducted student cabinet and class representatives under the expert guidance of Dr Devi Prabha Alva, associate professor of commerce, St Agnes College. She's an energetic and talented trainer known for her dynamic approach to leadership development.

The training programme aimed to equip student leaders with essential skills and knowledge to effectively lead their peers and manage their responsibilities within the framework of the college environment. Dr Devi Prabha's engaging and interactive style made the session highly impactful and enjoyable for the participants.

Dr Devi Prabha emphasized the 3 A's of leadership: appreciate, accept, and adapt. She urged the student council to pay no heed to naysayers and negative thoughts and instead focus on their goals. She spoke on the need to celebrate differences of opinion, as it expands our mental horizons and leads to a better and more nuanced understanding of the world. She also underscored the importance of vision, integrity, and empathy for effective leadership.

The session focused on ways to cultivate strong leadership skills. Various team-building exercises and problem-solving activities were conducted to foster collaboration, trust, empathy, and communication among the student leaders and to further enhance their skills.

The leadership training programme left a lasting imprint on the minds of student leaders and equipped them with the agility and skills necessary to make a positive impact in their role as cabinet members.

Mathew Antony, lecturer in commerce welcomed Dr Devi Prabha, while the student president, Manvitha R K thanked the resource person.
