Mangaluru: Women entrepreneur body Evolve hosts ‘Finance Help Desk – Gateway to Financial Mastery’

Mangaluru, Aug 10: Evolve, an association dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs, hosted an inspiring knowledgeable session titled ‘Finance Help Desk’ at Ajanta Business Centre on August 8. The event, featured a series of engaging discussions led by accomplished professionals, aimed at inspiring and educating aspiring businesswomen.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Raksha Bhat, the current serving president of Evolve. The chief guest for the event was esteemed joint commissioner of commercial taxes, Meera Suresh Pandit.

Pandit delivered an engaging keynote address on the types of taxes and the Goods and Services Tax (GST). She motivated women entrepreneurs to work towards success with determination and provided a comprehensive overview of direct and indirect taxes and their importance.

The five experienced speakers covered a diverse range of topics crucial to entrepreneurial success. Each topic lasted about 15 minutes, giving a fair overview. The speakers who addressed the forum with topics covered were:

1) Sapna Shenoy M, investment services provider & financial educator – spoke on personal wealth and finance management, a very crucial topic to maintain individual wealth and finance.

2) Shyam Shanbhag, director, CEO at D IT Solutions Pvt Ltd – discussed various applications and their uses, hassle free ways to maintain ledgers and financial receipts.

3) CA Shabana, shared her views on the importance of filing taxes, types of income taxes and how it is going to benefit individuals.

4) CA Gopalakrishna – advised the members on unit pricing in individual businesses and how to deal with crucial competition amongst businesses.

5) Sruthi G K, asst director, Br MSME DFO – gave thorough information regarding various government schemes and loans that can be availed, and the financial benefits provided by the government to assist women entrepreneurs to establish and succeed in their venture.

After the speakers shared fruitful insights with members, individual kiosks were set up at the venue for one-to-one discussion between members and speakers, to assist members with their queries.

Glancy Fernandes, secretary of Evolve, expressed gratitude to the chief guest, speakers and participants, highlighting the event's success in delivering actionable insights and fostering a supportive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs and token gift hampers were handed over to the esteemed speakers.
