Mangaluru, Aug 13: Mount Carmel Central School radiated with a vibrant display of talent and patriotism by its children from August 8-13 on the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day. The school organized a number of competitions to different grades and the students participated in them with much enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
A fancy dress competition was held for UKG kids focusing on the theme of India’s national symbols, a fitting topic for the occasion. Each child dressed as a national symbol, not only performed but also spoke a few lines about their chosen character. This platform provided a valuable opportunity for children to express themselves boldly in public, much to the pride of their parents

The competition for Grade 1 to 12, featured a range of activities and events, including patriotic solo singing for Grades 1 to 5; flower rangoli for Grade 6; mono act - solo for Grade 7; vegetable and fruit carving for Grade 8; salad dressing for Grade 9; cooking without fire - group for Grade 10 and digital poster making for Grade 11 and 12, all with a variety of patriotic themes.
These competitions not only showcased the talents of participants, but also reinforced the importance of remembering and cherishing the rich culture and traditions of the nation. It was truly a delight to witness the young children embodying patriotism with creativity and confidence through these activities. They also highlighted the importance of the collaboration between parents, teachers, and the school in nurturing the young minds.
