Mangaluru/Udupi: In recognition of Independence Day 2024, two dedicated officers from the coastal region have been selected for the prestigious President's Service Medals.
Ravish S Nayak, currently serving as ACP in the CCRB unit of the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate, has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. Throughout his career, Nayak has served in various districts including Bijapur, Gulbarga, and Yadgir. He has also been part of the Udupi Coastal Security Force unit, Immigration, and has served at Urwa and Mangaluru Rural police stations. He was later promoted and is currently serving in the CCRB unit.
B Vijay Kumar, a civil head constable in the DCRB (District Crime Records Bureau) division of the Udupi district police office, has also been honored with the President's Service Medal. Since joining the police department in 1993, Kumar has served in various positions across multiple police stations including Pannambur, Puttur City, Urwa, Udupi City, Kundapura, Udupi Traffic, Udupi Women's Police Station, and Hiriyadka Police Station. In 2022, he was also awarded the Chief Minister's Gold Medal for his exemplary service.
Both officers have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their duties, earning them this national recognition.
