Kolkata, Aug 15 (IANS): The body of a young woman with her throat slit was recovered on Thursday in Shaktigarh in West Bengal's East Burdwan district following which tension erupted in the area.

The victim was identified as Priyanka Hansda (22).

The police started an investigation by registering a case of unnatural death. Her body has been sent for post-mortem purposes.

The family members of the victim informed the police that the deceased woman used to work at a shopping mall in Bengaluru and had come home on vacation on August 12.

They also informed the police that she left her residence late Wednesday evening while speaking on her mobile phone with someone. Since then she was missing and finally, her body with her throat being slit was recovered from a secluded place within a kilometre from her residence.

District police sources said that a thorough investigation has started to trace the persons with whom she was last seen talking over her mobile phone while she left her residence.

The family members of the victim have told media persons that it is a case of murder. They said that she went out of the house after receiving a call from someone and her body was found with throat slit.

Very sad.Heartfelt sympathy to family.May her soul rest in peace.Nowadays this problem has reached a high level, killing girls ,raping without looking their age.Do they also do to their own people like this?In pair of years we may not have enough girls inour houses when it goes like this.Girls too should be careful ,not to go with any jack and jill who gives a phone call. They should tell at home with whom they are going to meet and where. If possible.Go with person when unknown one and let the second watch from far ,so that he or she can handle it in emergency.Even though it looks oed but necessary.in case of unknown persons. All are not saints or satans.
