Bengaluru, Aug 16: St Aloysius Degree College celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on the college campus. The event was graced by chief guest Dr Jacob Crasta, a renowned industrialist, along with the principal, Dr Sr Sagayamary B, manager, Fr Anthony Mahendran, governing council member

Anil D’Souza, PU principal, Sr Violet, and John Vianny, the headmaster of St Aloysius High School hheaded the event. The celebration was attended by students, faculty, and staff, all united in their reverence for the nation.

The programme commenced with a grand march by the NCC, scouts, and guides, featuring students from the high school, pre-university, and degree college. This was followed by the hoisting of the national flag by Dr Jacob Crasta, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, which filled everyone present with pride and patriotism.

In his speech, Dr Crasta emphasized the importance of hard work, dedication, entrepreneurship and unity in maintaining the nation's independence and achieving progress. He encouraged the students to actively participate in nation-building activities and contribute positively to the society.

The event also featured cultural performances by the degree college students, including patriotic songs and dances that depicted the rich heritage and history of India. These performances left everyone with a sense of pride and gratitude for the freedom and opportunities available in the country.

The college announced the release of the service rule book for St Aloysius Degree College, marking a significant milestone in the history in the institution. Additionally, we have published the quarterly newsletter of the college.

Overall, the celebration was a reminder of the nation's enduring spirit and the collective responsibility to uphold its values and principles.
