Mangaluru: Ryan International School celebrates the 78th Independence Day

Mangaluru, Aug 16: Ryan International School, Kulai celebrated the 78th Independence Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The chief guest of the day was Mahesh Prasad, City Crime Branch officer and the guest of honor was Dr Shashiraj K Shetty, orthopedic surgeon and head of the department at Srinivas Hospital, Mukka. The programme was attended by esteemed guests, proud parents, dedicated staff, and enthusiastic students.

On behalf of the Ryan family, Athreya of grade VIII, a member of the school council extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, the guest of honor and the distinguished gathering.

To commemorate the sovereignty of the nation, the Indian Tricolor was unfurled the by chief guest followed by the National Anthem. The Independence Day celebration began with a mellifluous rendition of the national song by the school choir.

The powerful rhetoric by Kiara of grade VII, exhorted the assemblage to renew our resolve on this Independence Day, to fill the gaps that remain in our nation-building. It advocated that the need of the hour is to live up to the legacy, sacrifice and velour of our ancestors and revered patriots - men and women of rare courage and foresight and to vow for a free, sovereign, and democratic India.

The chief guest Mahesh Prasad, City Crime Branch officer, in his address, motivated the students and exhorted them not to surrender to failures in life and instead take them as challenges to emerge winners. His words beckoned the students to preserve the culture and unity of our country which our constitution upholds reverberated through the alfresco and in the minds of the students long after he had made his exit.

The guest of honor Dr Shashiraj K Shetty, orthopedic surgeon and head of the department at Srinivas Hospital, Mukka, in his address, appreciated the cooperation among the staff, the mannerisms of the students and went on to elaborate upon the importance of hard work, sincerity, and dedication at world level to make India a developed nation.

The entire show was aesthetically pleasing. From the beautiful decoration of the school, festooned with colors of the Indian flag, the perfectly coordinated dances, powerful and thought-provoking speeches by the performers to the melodious symphonic rendition by the choir, it was a truly electrifying show that stirred up the quintessential sense of patriotism among the audience. The audience witnessed the presentation of the awards for the Spell Bee competition at the hands of the chief guest and the guest of honor respectively and the tree plantation keeping to the vision of our founder chairman Dr A F Pinto. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Kimaya of Grade IX and the school anthem led by the choir.
