Mangaluru: Institute of aviation studies celebrates Freshers Day ‘Udhgam’

Mangaluru, Aug 16: The Institute of Aviation Studies at Srinivas University buzzed with excitement and energy as the campus hosted its much-awaited Freshers' Day and student council inauguration, titled 'Udhgam,' on August 15. The event marked the official welcome of the new batch of students by their seniors, with a day full of vibrant performances, engaging activities, and warm interactions.

The programme began with a soul-stirring classical dance performance by Neha, a student from the III Year BBA aviation management. Following this, the inauguration of the student council took place, led by Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean of the institute of aviation studies, who ceremoniously handed over badges engraved with the designations to the council members.

The newly appointed council, including Mohammed Suhan Saheb as president, Mithun as vice-president, and Diya O R as secretary, took an oath to uphold their duties with integrity and dedication. The council also oversees various forums and cells, including the aviation forum, marketing forum, HR forum, student sports coordinator, cultural forum, student industrial visit and guest lecture coordinator, and the women and anti-sexual harassment cell.

As the day progressed, the spotlight shifted to the freshers themselves, who showcased their talents through a variety of performances, including singing, dancing, and skits. In addition to these performances, various games were conducted, adding to the fun and fostering camaraderie among the students. The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the new students set the tone for the day, reflecting their excitement to be part of the aviation community. The 'Udhgam' celebration at the institute of aviation studies was a resounding success, setting a positive and spirited tone for the academic year ahead.
