Karkala: BJP leader faces charges for derogatory comment on police officer

Karkala, Aug 18: A case has been registered at the Manipal police station against Karkala BJP leader Nitte Naveen Nayak for making derogatory comments about a police officer.

The complaint was filed by Karkala Circle Inspector (CI) Manjappa D R, who reported that Naveen addressed him in a disrespectful manner and used abusive language during a BJP protest meeting held on August 5 in front of the deputy commissioner's office regarding the Parashurama Theme Park.

The Manipal police are currently investigating the matter further.
