Mumbai (RBI), Aug 18: "Journalists are always philosophical and service wise. Sharing the platform of such a journalist is an unexpected privilege. This is a great honor for our Kannada Kala Kendra," said Madhusudan T R, president, Kannada Kala Kendra, Mumbai.

Madhusudan was the chief guest and inaugurated programme with lighting the lamp at the 2024 annual K T Venugopal Kapasama National Madhyamshri Award ceremony organized by the Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra at Club House auditorium of Solitary Corporate Park, Andheri East on Sunday, August 18.

Rajyotsava award winner senior literary and award committee chairman Dr Suneetha M Shetty and advisory member of KPSM, NCP North Central District inspector Laxman C Poojary Chitrapu were the chief guests and senior Bengaluru journalist C G Manjula was presented annual award K T Venugopal Kapasama National Madhyamshri Award with a shawl, Rs 25,000 cash, plaque, certificate and flower and congratulated.

Laxman Poojary spoke about Kapasama's contribution to the rich legacy of journalists in Mumbai. The progress of the organization is possible due to the response of the members with diligence and creativity. Here Rama's role should be more important than Ravana's role, he said.

"The name is perpetuated by the awards. Service accounting is more important than membership in organizations. Journalism is not an easy matter. This is a matter of experience. Even if age leaves us in service here, mind can never leave us. K T V's media service satisfaction is the value of this award Dr Suneetha Shetty introduced about the award

I have grown up reading the service contribution of Mumbai Kannadigas and this is the honor of the burden of Maharashtrian admiration. Kannadigas from Mumbai have a relationship of give and take. The late K T Venugopal is a momentous occasion to honor his memory as he nurtured the minds of Kannada. Currently, the number of girls in journalism is not increasing. Even in the meantime, such honor seems to have inspired Nari Shakti. This will develop a holistic view of journalism. Journalists should work hard to overcome discrimination. Responding to the award, Manjula said that journalism will prevail when women's perspective is raised.

It is commendable that the Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra is entering the youth stage. President Rons Bantwal said that our satisfaction and achievement is that the association is strengthening relations among journalists and responding at their difficult times and humanity is flourishing," Laxman Poojary said.

On this auspicious occasion, award jury member Harish G Poojary Kokkarne introduced and congratulated the awardees. Kirankumar Shetty, Suresh Moolya Bantakal and Poornima Madhusudan were honored. Member Ramesh Hangargi who is newly married was honored and congratulated.
