Mangaluru, Aug 18: Mandd Sobhann is committed to mentoring talent and offering a valuable platform for growth. During the inauguration of the children's vocal training programme, Sur Sobhann, Jacqueline Fernandes, winner of Soad-4 (Rani Kogull), highlighted the importance of continuous learning and seizing opportunities.

"If you learn well here and excel, you will be in the spotlight. The training I received here significantly contributed to my success. When you learn classical music and get opportunities to perform in CDs, films, and stage performances, you will realize the worth of Sur Sobhann," she said.

The inauguration featured a unique ceremony where musical notations were extracted from a bass drum and handed over to seven student participants: Alden Pereira, Lenwin Pereira, Preran Crasta, Simona Saldanha, Sanjana Mathias, Anvia Lobo, and Alveena Monteiro. They also received a textbook outlining the 60-hour vocal training programme curriculum, which was presented to Shilpa Tejaswini Cutinha, chief trainer of Sur Sobhann.

Eric Ozario, the Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, extended his best wishes for the training programme and urged participants to strive for excellence. “It’s not enough just to come, sing, and go. You should excel in this field. Rehearse well what has been taught. Don’t learn only for the sake of competitions. Aim high and be the pride of our language,” he advised.

Mandd Sobhann president Louis J Pinto and assistant trainer Dealle D'Souza were also present.

The event was coordinated by Sumell co-ordinator Raina Sequeira and compered by Sumell member Prima Ferrao. Victor Mathias provided training-related information, and Arunraj Rodrigues conducted warm-up games. The ceremony concluded with the first day of training.
