Mangaluru, Aug 18: World Organ Donation Day is observed on August 13 every year to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation and its significance in saving lives. Being aware of the need of this noble task, the students of class 4A at Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School, Kotekar (CBSE), organised a programme to commemorate this special day.
The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome dance performed by students, setting the tone for the event. Viha and Prathisht delivered a welcome speech, followed by the introduction of Dr Atul Kamath M, an ophthalmologist, the chief guest of the day.
Hunaina and Devna then presented before the audience the significance of the day, highlighting the importance of organ donation and its impact on the society. This was followed by a series of performances, including a dance on organ donation, a mime, and a theme-based dance.
Dr Atul Kamath M, the chief guest then delivered an informative speech on the importance of organ donation, its need to save lives of people.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Saanvi Narayan. Overall, the programme aimed at creating an awareness about organ donation and its significance, and was a successful endeavour in educating the students and staff about this important social cause.
Hunaina, Faaz, Viha, Vaishak, Kushi, Shriya, Sarah, Maryam, Rithwik, and Izma, compeered the programme and ensured the smooth execution of the programme.
