Kasargod, Aug 19: A tragic incident occurred in the Kunnattipara Shantiyodu area of Kasaragod, where a three-month-old pregnant woman took her own life.

The deceased has been identified as Vijetha (32), the wife of Janardhana from Shantiyodu.

On Sunday morning, Vijetha's husband went to a relative's house in Ullal. During his absence, Vijetha remained at home. When he returned in the evening, he found the door to the room locked from the inside. Upon breaking open the door, he discovered Vijetha hanging from a ceiling fan.

The Kumble police conducted an investigation at the scene. Vijetha, a resident of Vamanjoor Pilikula, had been married for a little over a year. The exact reasons for the suicide are yet to be determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
