Udupi, Aug 18: Bus owners from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts met with the Udupi district commissioner and the member of parliament for Udupi-Chickmagaluru constituency to submit a memorandum regarding their strike against the illegal withdrawal of money from their FASTag accounts at the Hejamadi and Sasthan toll gates.

The Canara Bus Owners Association has decided to hold a silent protest on August 23 at 9:30 AM at the Hejamadi and Sasthan Toll Plazas, Udupi. This protest aims to raise awareness about the unauthorized deductions from the FASTag wallet accounts of bus owners, in addition to normal charges, under the pretext of a "Chargeback Process."

The bus owners met Udupi-Chickmagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary and district commissioner Dr Vidyakumari to submit their memorandum and seek redressal for their grievances.

Association office bearers Raghavendra Bhat, Kishan Hegde Kolkebailu, Vasanth Shetty, Imtiaz Ahmed, Gananath Hegde, and others were present on the occasion.
