Mangaluru: Technical committee inspects dilapidated bridges

Mangaluru, Aug 20: A committee of technical experts arrived in Dakshina Kannada district on Monday to inspect bridges that pose a danger to motorists.

The experts visited Polali, Ulaibettu, and Balkunje, where they inspected the bridges, including their lower parts, accessed by boat. They also held discussions with officials and locals regarding the condition of the bridges.

The committee included retired chief engineer and bridge expert Jaigopal, senior officer Mahendra from the Project, Road, and Asset Maintenance Centre in Bengaluru, and others. Amarnath Jain, executive engineer of Mangaluru PWD, and assistant engineer Nagaraju R B were also present.
