Udupi, Aug 20: Udupi block Congress president, Ramesh Kanchan, has raised a pointed question to Pramod Madhwaraj, asking whether he resigned from his position as Karnataka’s minister of fisheries, youth empowerment, and sports when social activist T J Abraham filed a complaint against him alleging a Rs 193 crore scam.

Kanchan’s question comes in the wake of Madhwaraj demanding the resignation of chief minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the MUDA case. Kanchan noted that despite political pressure, Siddaramaiah has no involvement in the case, and the accusations are baseless, aimed only at tarnishing his image. He reminded Madhwaraj that when the same TJ Abraham had filed a false complaint against him, Siddaramaiah, who was the chief minister at the time, did not ask for Madhwaraj's resignation. Madhwaraj, according to Kanchan, was eventually acquitted of all charges by the court.

Kanchan further criticized Madhwaraj for his current political stance, stating that even though Madhwaraj is now with the BJP, he should not forget the mental harassment he endured due to the same activist. Kanchan advised Madhwaraj to be cautious in making accusations and to remember the past incidents. He also accused Madhwaraj and the BJP of engaging in unethical politics by allying with individuals like Abraham, who he claimed are involved in such fraudulent activities.

Kanchan concluded by asserting that Siddaramaiah's life is an open book and expressed confidence that he would be cleared of all allegations in the MUDA case.
