Mangaluru: 'Career Expo-2024' - Career guidance programme held at St Agnes PU College

Mangaluru, Aug 20: A career guidance programme - Career Expo-2024, was organised by the department of humanities at St Agnes PU College for the students and their parents on August 17 in the Conference Hall. 

The objective of the programme was to enable the students to understand the various career avenues open to them. The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song led by Lisha and her team.

Dr Kavyashree K B, assistant professor, department of postgraduate studies & research in psychology, St Agnes College, Mangaluru, Ananya Rai advocate the high court of Karnataka and Sandhya D’Souza, media practitioner, were the resource persons for the career guidance.

The speakers articulated on the importance of choosing the right career and how it is a significant and pivotal decision in one's life. They stressed hard work, discipline and the conceptional knowledge required to pursue any career in life.

Sandhya D'Souza emphasized the importance of networking and explored various career paths in journalism and multimedia. Ananya Rai shared her wisdom on various career options in the field of Humanities with special mention of law, civil service and other competitive examinations. Dr Kavyashree K B, focused on the various career options in psychology and emphasized the importance of acquiring practical skills through internships.

Olivia Patrao, lecturer in economics skilfully moderated the session. Avitha D’Souza, lecturer in psychology welcomed the gathering. Areej, Arts secretary delivered the vote of thanks. The session was compered by Jyothi Pinto, HOD, department of humanities. The principal Sr Norine D'Souza, vice principal Sr Janet Sequeira and the staff witnessed the programme.
