Udupi, Aug 20: Dr Chandrashekhar G S, secretary of the Poornaprajna College management committee, emphasized that students are the assets of society. He advised them to concentrate on their chosen subjects, maintain focus, and strive for holistic development. He urged students to uphold the reputation of their college and guardians by selecting the right institutions, embracing discipline, and exercising self-restraint from the beginning of their academic journey.
He was speaking at the orientation program organized for first-year degree students. The event was jointly hosted by the college’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the Student Welfare Committee. Dr Chandrashekhar inaugurated the program and extended his best wishes to the students.
Dr Ramu L, principal of the college, presided over the event. In his address, he highlighted the importance of education and guided students to focus on the various activities offered by the college.
During the event, Dr Ramesh TS, student welfare officer, along with senior faculty members including Dr Prakash Rao, proffessor Shivakumar PT, Dr Vijayalakshmi C Bhat, Dr Vinayakumar D, coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Dr Mahesh Bhat, and Sumalatha, provided detailed information on various topics. These included college discipline, examination rules, the college’s evolution, daily activities, programs to support the holistic development of students, library usage, and the regulations that female students must follow.
In accordance with orders from the state government and district administration, a pledge against drug addiction was administered to all the students.
Dr Lakshmish Rao, assistant professor of the physics department, welcomed the guests. Student welfare officer and program coordinator Jayalakshmi conducted the program and proposed the vote of thanks.
