Stone pelting on MLC Ivan D’Souza’s residence: Alwyn D’Souza, Prashanth Jattanna urge action

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 22: In a press statement, Alwyn D’Souza, president of Ullal Block minority unit said, “Some miscreants pelted stones on the house of MLC Ivan D’Souza situated at Valencia on the late night of August 21. Ivan D’Souza had identified himself as a strong leader of Christian and minority community. He is in the forefront of social, political and organizing leader. He has always opposed strongly communal forces. The pelting of stones on his house is a condemnable act. We condemn the same. I hereby urge arrest of miscreants immediately and also take legal action on them.”

Members of the Indian Christian Association also have strongly condemned the act of stone-pelting at the house of MLC Ivan D'Souza.

In a press release, Prashanth Jattanna, the president of the Indian Christian Federation stated, "The stone-pelting incident at the residence of the honourable member of the Legislative Council, Ivan D'Souza, clearly indicates a politics of hatred and a conspiracy to disturb peace. We urge the police department to take appropriate action against the miscreants and those who supported this act, and we strongly condemn this illegal act."
