Bantwal, Aug 23: In a bid to facilitate public transportation between Polali and Addur, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguthu has personally arranged a free bus service. The service was inaugurated this morning in Polali.

The mini-bus service was flagged off by Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguthu in front of the Polali Temple this morning, in the presence of priests and the public.

The deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada had issued an order to close the Addur bridge, which spans the Phalguni River in Polali. However, many people rely on this route for their daily commute. To ease the inconvenience caused by the ongoing repair work, MLA Rajesh Naik arranged for a free vehicle service for the benefit of the public.

The free vehicle service from Polali to Addur will benefit devotees visiting the Polali Temple and local residents until the bridge repairs are completed. A few days ago, a crack appeared on the Addur bridge, which crosses the Polali Phalguni River, leading to confusion among the public due to the lack of information regarding the ban on heavy vehicle movement. Finally, the district administration, experts, and the MLA resolved this confusion.

Speaking about the initiative, Chandrashekar Shetty mentioned that understanding the hardships faced by the people of Polali, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik purchased a mini-bus to facilitate public transportation. The bus service will run only from Addur to Polali, making it convenient for daily commuters, students, and devotees visiting Polali. "When we spoke to the MLA on the morning of August 22, he immediately responded to the public's needs by purchasing the bus," he added.

The locals have expressed their appreciation for MLA Rajesh Naik's initiative, noting that the task, which should have been handled by the district administration, was accomplished by the MLA.

The program was attended by Venkatesh Navoda, Sukesh Chouta, Chandrashekar Shetty, Bhuvanesh, Chandrahas Pallipadi, Lokesh Bharani, Yashwanth Kotyan Polali, Subbaya Naik, Kumar Polali, Yashodhar Polali, Sachin Adapa, Harish Balli Gurupura, Ashok Badkabaill, Suresh, Sandeep Polali, Karthik Ballal, Santosh Manikanth, Jayashree Kallaker Meremajal, Chandravati Polali, and others.
