Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Aug 24: A college student tragically took his own life in the city for reasons that remain unknown.

The deceased, Tushar Veigas (17), was a resident of an apartment in Ajjarkad ward and a second-year PU student at a local college.

On Friday, Tushar attended college as usual and returned home at 3:30 pm. He informed his mother that he would take some rest and went to his bedroom. Around 4 pm, his mother became concerned and knocked on his bedroom door, but it was locked from the inside.

With the help of neighbours, the door was broken down, and Tushar was found to have hanged himself. The exact reason for this extreme step is still unknown.

he was really good at studies and was a really optimistic and god loving person who was an excellent public speaker, and was a friend who i knew since i was in 2nd grade. he didnt show any signs of this recently. we deserve to know the reason for this and are frustrated, as none of the medias or people are doing anything or covering more about this. the people who were his friends are also ignoring this and are taking it in a very light/casual manner blaming him for his actions without having the slightest idea of what was truly going on in his mind. people change.. but not to this extent. and i hope we will receive some info about this. as i am sick of all these people simply overlooking whatever happened as if it were nothing. i havent seen a single person sharing his/her condolences to the family. even his own classmates are busy posting stories about whatever happened recently in other states. he did not deserve this sort of treatment whatsoever.

I am the father of Tushar, my younger son. He was a gift from God to our family and he was restored very soon to be back with the Lord. He was absolutely normal, matured, bold and at the same time soft spoken. God had bestowed upon him good health, bright in studies and always willing to help at Home, Society & his acquainted circles. He was the Class Representative last year and was also offered to continue this year but politely refused since he felt this was an important academic year. On the fateful day itself during the Accountancy Class at 12.30 noon, the results was announced by the concerned Lecturer. Tushar was the only student who scored 100% marks and the entire class applauded him. He was then asked to give his reaction. He stood up and said, "Madam, I am feeling very happy today. He was with his usual close friends on the way returning Home. When he returned home at 3.30 pm, only my mother was at home and he spoke as usual normal with her before leaving for his room to take a small nap. He also enquired what she would prepare for evening snacks. Both myself and my wife were in our respective place of work. Till now nothing suspicious have been found in the investigation. I can only add that Tushar was loved by everybody during the school days, in the housing society and as well in the College for his good deeds and even in his youth maintained the purity like an angel in this world which is filled with the spirits of ill-health, accidents and suicides. I appreciate the post of his schoolmate for sharing his/her experience about Tushar.
