Kaup: 10 lac youngsters to engage in ‘Voice of Youth’

Kaup, Aug 24: "JCI India, which has been continuously organizing programmes aimed at personality development, leadership training, sustainable society building, and community development among the youth, is currently celebrating its Amrit Mahotsav," said JCI India national president Rekhesh Sharma.

Speaking at a press conference held at Mandara Hotel by Kaup JCI, he mentioned that as part of the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, a unique programme called 'Voice of Youth' is being conducted across the country. Under this initiative, they are engaging with over ten lac youth, discussing their challenges, choices, and issues in collaboration with IIT Mumbai. A detailed report on this will be prepared and presented to the Government of India.

Every year, JCI India foundation allocates Rs 3 cr for scholarships to selected students from rural areas across the country. Out of this, Rs 10 lac is earmarked for zone 15, which includes the districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada. Under the women's empowerment scheme, 100 girl students are adopted each year and supported for four years of education from grades 9 to 12. Special programmes have also been initiated to support the families of members through the JCI Welfare Fund.

The movement is also being strengthened through platforms like JCOM and the JCI Alumni Club. Continuous community service activities are being carried out, and this year, essential items worth Rs 1 cr were provided to those affected by natural calamities in Kerala and Wayanad. A large-scale project worth Rs 1 cr has been planned for the economic empowerment of the Wayanad victims.

Zone president Girish SP said that during the national president's two-day visit, various units and areas in the districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada were visited, and several programmes were inaugurated. This year, around 1,000 community development projects, continuous training programmes, and unit, region, and zone-level programmes have been conducted to build a sustainable society.

Kapu JCI president Sukhalakshmi Bangera, former zone president Rakesh Kunjur, zone vice president Sanath Kumar, zone secretary Soumya Rakesh, zone director Abhilash BA, and coordinator Satish Poojary were present at the event.
