Kolkata, Nov 15 (IANS): Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni pounded the hapless West Indies attack enroute to an unbeaten century as India reached a mammoth 613 for six in their first innings at tea on day two of the second Test at the Eden Gardens here Tuesday.

Dhoni was unconquered on 138 while V.V.S. Laxman was unbeaten on 168 as the Indian batsmen made for a run feast without losing any wicket in the second session.

Yuvraj Singh (25) was the only batsman to get out since play resumed Tuesday morning.

Resuming at 346/5 overnight, India had reached 433 for six in their first innings when the umpires decided to go for lunch 19 minutes before the scheduled time after the lightmeter showed insufficient light.

Thereafter, 267 runs came in the post-lunch session, as Dhoni and Laxman made mincemeat of the venomless Caribbean attack. The seventh wicket partnership is now worth 217.

Dhoni's century came off 147 deliveries after a 156 minute stint in the middle, inclusive of eight fours and 2 sixes.
