Udupi, Aug 26: A tragic incident occurred in Karambali, Udupi, where a student drowned while swimming.
The victim, Siddharth Shetty (17), a resident of Indrali and a student from Manipal, lost his life.
Siddharth, along with two others, went swimming in the Karambali lake, but the other two did not enter the water.
In a separate incident, four individuals went swimming in the Nilepadey river in Alevoor, where two of them fell into the river. The mishap occurred while they were taking a selfie and got waterlogged.
Local residents quickly rescued them and rushed them to a hospital in Manipal. Both are reported to be in critical condition.
