Mumbai: BSKBA holds first Krishna fancy dress competition

Mumbai, Aug 26: First Krishna fancy dress competition was organized at Sri Gopakakrishna Shrine of Gokula under the joint aegis of Gopalkrishna Public trust and BSKB association on Sunday.

Mumbai chief of Pejawar math Vidwan Dr Ramadasa Upadhyaya Renjala inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. Priest of Gokula Ganesh Bhat conducted pooja of Lord Sri Krishna.

The chief guests present on the dais were president of Bunts association Praveen Bhoja Shetty, honorary treasurer CA Ramesh B Shetty, vice executive president of Jnana Mandira Nalyaguthu Prakash Shetty, senior entrepreneur J C Kumar Kateel (Nandan GSE), Sridhar Rammurthy (Shanmukhananda), Ajay Pandya of Sion Welfare Forum, Deepak Shivathaya, executive president of Krishna fancy dress committee and Pilinje Vinodini Rao.

Praveen B Shetty said, “When I saw the Balakrishnas here I felt as if I saw Lord Srikrishna on earth. Children are Gods in real nature. I felt blessed by seeing the form of God in children. This was possible by Dr Saresh Rao.”

Around 300 competitors registered their name for the contest. The competition went on for the whole day. There were categories for age groups of two months to one year, one year to two years, two to three, three to five, five to nine, nine to 12 and 12 to 15 years of age. The competition was held in various floors of Gokula under the guidance of Pradeep Kumar Kalkura. Vishwanatha Pethri, P B Chandrahas, Prabhakar Beluvayi, Bhaskar Suvarna Sasihitlu, Satish Kananjar, Sharada Ambesange, Laxmi Herur, Shubhalaxmi Aiyar and Kala Srinivasan were the judges.

Various programmes will be held on Monday and Tuesday on account of yearly Sri Krishna Janmashtami. From 3 pm Mosaru Kudike Sri Krishna Leelotsava, Mosaru Kudike, Vitla Pindi will be celebrated with religious and cultural programmes. Office bearers of both organizing associations informed that all devotees of Maharashtra should attend the religious and cultural programmes and accept the prasadam of Lord Sri Krishna.

K R Acharya, working president of Ashraya Samiti, senior entrepreneur J C Kumar, president of BASKBA and GPT trust Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, First woman of BSKBA V Jayalaxmi Suresh Rao, vice president Vaman Holla, secretary APK Poti, treasurer CA Haridas Bhat, joint secretary Chitra Melmane, Mohanraj Yenagudde, president of BSKBA women section Sahana A Poti, working president of Gokula Bhajana Mandali I K Prema S Rao, working president of Ashrama samiti K R Acharya, retired members of Gopalkrishna Trust B Ramananda Rao, Krishna Acharya, Ramavittala Kalluraya, other office bearers, members, other office bearers of both organizations and many members were present.
