Sthuti D’Sa makes grand Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha amid thunderous applause in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Aug 26: The cultural scene in Bengaluru was illuminated by the Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha of Sthuti D’Sa at the JSS Auditorium, Jayanagar, on Saturday, August 24. Presented by Anurag Kalaa Gurukula and guided by guru (mentor) Pallavi Raghavendra, this significant event marked a milestone in Sthuti’s classical dance journey.

The evening unfolded with grace as Sthuti, a dedicated disciple of guru Pallavi Raghavendra, performed a series of intricate Bharatanatyam pieces. The Rangapravesha, a crucial rite of passage in Bharatanatyam, highlighted her years of rigorous training and readiness for solo performances.

Notable figures from the Indian classical arts community graced the event, offering their blessings and support. Among them were Karnataka Kalashree Dr K Kumar, professor & HoD of the Department of Dance at the University College of Fine Arts, Mysuru; Pardeep Kumar, zonal director of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations; Vidwan R Kumaresh, renowned violin virtuoso and Sangeetha Nataka Akademi awardee; and Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh, celebrated veena maestro and Sangeetha Nataka Akademi awardee.

Reflecting on the evening, Sthuti shared, “Performing my Rangapravesha was a dream come true. This day represents the culmination of years of dedication, and I am profoundly grateful for my guru’s guidance, my family’s support, and the blessings of everyone who attended. It was truly an unforgettable experience.”

The evening’s grandeur was complemented by a live music ensemble featuring:

  • Nattuvangam: Guru Pallavi Raghavendra
  • Vocal: Vid. Bharathi Venugopal
  • Mridangam: Vid. Vidya Shankar
  • Flute: Vid. Raghu Simha
  • Veena: Vid. Shankar Raman
  • Rhythm Pad: Vid. Karthik Daatar

Guru Pallavi Raghavendra expressed her pride, stating, “Sthuti’s Rangapravesha was not merely a performance; it was a testament to her dedication, discipline, and passion for Bharatanatyam. I am incredibly proud of her achievements and eagerly anticipate her future contributions to the world of classical dance.”

The celebration concluded with a dinner hosted by the D’Sa family, allowing guests, including family, friends, and well-wishers, to share in the joy of the occasion.
